Q1. What is the difference in animation 2D and 3D?
The most obvious difference between the two genres of animation is the three dimensional characteristics or the appearance of depth. 2D animation is created by drawing almost every frame of the animated movie and is the base of 3D animation. It is created by changing the poses and the placement of already created 3D models. It has more depth and is more realistic, it is a series of images/ objects created using computers or any other digital media.

Q2. What knowledge does a potential student require?
A student should have an artistic and creative bend of mind. 
Q3. Are drawing Skills compulsory for becoming a good animator?
The Animation Industry is growing at a fast pace and hence needs a large number of trained professionals. Job skills required in the animation field can be clubbed under two broad categories:

   1-Technical skills
   2- Soft skills

Drawing skills, design & layout, animation techniques & training on relevant software, creating different moods and feelings in characters are skills that can be acquired through a formal Animation training program from a reputed institution like AIACA.

Q4. What career options are open after studying at AIACA?
A wide range of career options is available after studying at AIACA. Students can compete for 2D, 3D and VFX job opportunities in a wide array of industries. Since animation is a growing field, the work opportunities keep increasing.

Q5. What kind of firms recruits straight from campus?
Well-known production houses from across India recruit the students. Apart from production houses software companies, e-learning firms are major recruiters. The AIACA students have procured jobs at well-known production houses within the country.

Q6. What exactly is taught at AIACA?
AIACA teaches and trains students to be professional animators. AIACA does not merely teach animation. It teaches students to think creatively and develop their imagination skill for overall success in the animation industry. This also includes the pre-production part involving the story development, character development, background painting etc.

Q7. What is the difference between AIACA from other Animation academies?
We make sure that our students gets job as animators and not simply software operators. Being able to use Excel software for example doesn’t automatically mean that you’re an accountant.

Q8. What is the admission criteria and procedure?
Minimum qualification required is 10+2 (Higher Secondary) passed or appeared, in any stream. For all our courses, our batch starts once in 6months. Once you are convinced and decided to join, are required to face an assessment where their IQ and basic creativity skill are tested. Questions are set in a way where students from all background are able to answer them and the faculty is able to assess whether the candidate has a potential in animation/gaming industry and also to assess which aspect of animation is best suited to the student.

 Q9. What software do you teach in AIACA courses?
AIACA conducts training on the latest versions of software used in the Animation & VFX industry around the world.

Q10. What is the scope for animation in India?
The animation industry in India will grow at 22 percent every year, according to the latest report by NASSCOM*.
Many big studios and companies like Walt Disney, Sony Pictures & Turner Entertainment which make animated films, TV ads & computer games, are off-shoring animation content to India. Many Indian animation studios & production houses are packed with work be it outsourced from abroad or in-house projects for the market in India. Hence, the Indian animation industry is certainly facing a talent crunch. Trained & talented people are required to fill these job vacancies.

Q11. What types of courses are available?
1.      1-Year Certificate in Basic Animation and VFX (Part time)
2.       6-Month Certificate in Basic Animation (Part time)
3.       1-Year Diploma in Animation Film Making (2D + 3D Animation) (Fulltime)

Q12. Does the AIACA have hostel facilities?
AIACA as such does not have hostel facilities, but you can speak to the centre counselors who will assist you in finding suitable accommodation.


Q13. How is animation as a career?
Animation is highly exciting and youthful career option, which is rewarding too. Animation enables you to create characters, give them life, fill colors and others pay for work which you do! Field of animation especially computer animation is advancing at a very rapid scale in terms of technology and expertise. There is no dearth of opportunities because the media industry is booming.


Q14. What kind of salary can be expected after the completion of an Animation course?
Animation is a creative field. Your salary depends on your talent, creativity and knowledge you gain from the course. Upon successful course completion, AIACA offers placement assistance so that you get a chance to be interviewed & recruited by major animation studios & film making companies.


Q15. Does an animation mean that you only get to work in movies?          
In addition to TV and film work, many of our graduates have found work in the field of game design and development, advertising, web design, cellular phone development, architecture, medical technology and more. Some have even gone on to establish their own companies.

Only you have to bring the passion and we’ll supply the rest. We have all the latest internationally accepted software and hardware equipment that you could ever need.
